Bizarre

Yesterday, I was reading Cavitation's complaining about how emasculating his mother-in-law was to him, and it got me to thinking.

I find it interesting that you read that post as a
"complaint".

Q: How can you tell Cavitation is complaining?
A: His lips are moving.

my lips did not move once while I was typing my post ;-)

No, but they moved when you were reading it back to yourself to congratulate yourself on being so entertaining.

It is so sad to see that you still have a writer-block.
Otherwise, what other reason do you to go around and slaughter other people's blogs?
The only other thing that comes to mind is that you really are nasty, but - that would be so off base, right?

Hey - it's like a serial thing with you!
You start off by graciously crowning a new blogger as "Blog Of The Week", getting that blogger all thankful and excited, but once the formerly-rookie blogger takes off, you take the title away.
If they continue to soar, especially if they are getting into some real writing, you go on a quest of slandering and bashing them.

Hmm... Interesting pattern.

It's a distinct possibility that I'm really nasty.

What I find much more amusing is that after all this time, you still don't understand the blog medium.

But, I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and simply say that you being a whacky foreigner and all, some of the subtleties of my humor are probably lost in translation, and thus much of what I leave in comments ends up sounding just mean. However, to someone with a deep understanding of the nuances of American English, in particular the Upstate New York dialect, I am actually quite hysterical. I know this because I go back to read everything I write so I can pat myself on the back for being so hillarious, and I simply cannot detect any trace of nastiness anywhere. Can you point to some specific examples so that I understand what constructions are confusing to you?
